Art Shell's first training camp practice showed things will be different for the Raiders representatives this season. At the end of the first practice 12 players were running around the field as punishment for penalties, among them: Rashad Moore and Randy Moss. Saints Release Dwight SmithDwight Smith was released by the New Orleans Saints last Thursday and he will probably start with another team by the end of this week: the Minnesota Vikings. Apparently he has been meeting with this team's coaches and officials since last Monday. NFL Training Camps are About to StartThe Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets will be opening training camps on Thursday July 20th. These two teams will be the first ones in doing so this year followed by Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans next Sunday. It is expected that by July 30th all teams will be training in the camps. Fernando Alonso and the Canadian Grand PrixFernando Alonso won last Sunday his 4th consecutive race giving him the conquest of the Canadian Formula One Grand Prix. For Alonso who runs for Renault was an easy victory since he started from the pole and only had a brief challenge from the Finn Kimi Raikkonen at the beginning of the race but Alonso held off Raikkonen's attempt to pass him in the 12th lap. Alonso's final margin of victory was only 2.1 seconds NFL Rookies Will Have Their Annual SymposiumThe 10th annual Rookie Symposium in San Diego will be taking place on June 25th. This is a four day orientation that introduces the 2006 NFL Draft into the National Football League before the training camps start. First Teams To Classify To The World Cup Second RoundAt first, there were thirty two teams competing for a common goal in Germany: make their best effort and classify to the next round. Three countries have already achieved this. Germany, England and Ecuador have earned their tickets to the next round of the FIFA World Cup 2006. Costa Rica, Poland and Paraguay have been eliminated.
